During the period of ICC cricket world cup 2015 preparation each and every cricketing nation is busy to overcome their problems but Pakistan is still struggling with their fitness and performance on the field. Team Pakistan has issues with their bowling attack which was once the best weapon of Pakistan. While Pakistan has evolved a good batting order which consists of amazing players having great attributes, the bowling attack suffers fitness issues, quality and lack of experience. In the recent past all major pace bowlers encountered an injury which surely is a concern for Pakistan cricket board.
Pakistan will be missing their one of the most experienced fast bowler Umar Gul in the world cup because of his surgery. Umar Gul was dropped by the cricket selection committee of Pakistan because he was not able to gain fitness in given time.Whereas Junaid Khan grabbed his world cup spot but he is still suffering with a hamstring injury and will not be featuring in New Zealand ODI’s. Junaid Khan is surely the best bowler Pakistan has; losing him will be a great setback for the team. So we hope he will be fit and ready for the world cup.Spin bowling department will be facing huge problems in the absences of Saeed Ajmal and Mohammad Hafeez. Pakistan introduced Haris Sohail and Yasir Shah in place of them but they cannot fill the gaps of Saeed Ajmal’s persistency and Mohammad Hafeez’s contained bowling figures.
However, Mohammad Irfan (world’s tallest bowler) has shown commitment and consistency for his team in recent past and helped Pakistan in many difficult circumstances. Keeping in view his height and weight we have to give him credit for maintaining his fitness and doing an exceptional job in recent 11 ODI’s. He will be a great weapon for the team Pakistan on bouncy tracks of Australia and will be the major threat for batsmen.Pakistan will not be entering in world cup 2015 as favorites but we cannot right off their chances to win the world cup 2015. They are famous for putting the right effort at the right time and clinching a victory on their day. So we have to keep our fingers crossed until the day comes.
